Under 15s

The U15s team is very important to Woodhouse Grange, with this being a crucial stage in the development of young cricketers.

Woodhouse Grange has run an under 15s team for many years, with a high degree of success. There have been some notable examples of our players gaining representative honours at this level, and many U15s have later (or sooner) graduated to the Woodhouse Grange 1st XI.

This age group side play in Division 1 of the York and District Junior Cricket Association's Hirepoint U15 League. Matches of 20 overs per side are played against other local clubs, mainly on Monday nights from late April to mid July.

Opportunities will also arise for a number of our U15 players to play in longer forms of the game, either for our Academy or Intermediates teams, 3rd / 4th XIs or in friendly matches.

The Under 15s team is managed by long time, distinguished first team players Steve Burdett and Mike Burdett.

With a combined 21 league championship winners medals, and a whole host of other trophies including multiple National Village Cup triumphs, the Burdett brothers are amongst the very finest players to represent not only Woodhouse Grange, but the York & District Senior League.

Having played at the top level for many years - including a combined 15 years of 1st XI captaincy - the Burdett brothers are perfectly placed to guide promising young players towards successful cricketing careers.
