Woodhouse Grange 3rd XI

In 2016 the 3rd XI are playing in Galtres Division 3 of the York & District Senior League, a competitive level of club cricket with many decent players. The new league structure for 2016 will probably be good news for the 3rd XI, because in the previous two years, after being promoted in 2013, the thirds were pitched into a division that perhaps had too many stronger sides.

The 3rd XI usually has an interesting mix of players with a combination of up and coming younger players, many of whom are in their early teens, and some senior players, including several of which have played at 1st XI level and are still fine cricketers, but not necessarily too sprightly chasing around the boundary!!

This mix of youth and experience is ideal and it allows younger players to settle into a good standard of adult cricket whilst developing their skills. It is also worth adding that many of our 1st and 2nd XI players progressed through our 3rd XI, so it is a great environment for promising young cricketers.
