Foss Evening Senior XI

Woodhouse Grange's 'Senior' Evening XI provides opportunities for competitive midweek cricket. Often comprising players from all four senior sides, it gives players a chance to play with those who may not necessarily be teammates on a Saturday,  and for young players to learn from quality cricketers first hand.

Playing in the York-based Foss Evening League, matches of between 16-20 overs per side (depending on the projected remaining daylight) are held on Wednesday nights from early May to early August.

As long-time members of Division One, Woodhouse Grange often encounter stiff opposition; many cricketers in this competition play their Saturday cricket in the upper echelons of the York & District Senior Cricket League, or even the ECB Yorkshire Premier League North.

Experienced first team all-rounder Chris Suddaby leads the 'Senior' Wednesday night team.

One of the few clubs to have two teams playing in the Foss Evening League, Woodhouse Grange also runs their much valued Academy  alongside the senior team.

Woodhouse Grange has participated in the Foss Evening League for many seasons, having taken the place of the defunct Thornton Cricket Club in the early 1990s, and has claimed no fewer than 13 Division One titles to date.
