Foss Evening League

Woodhouse Grange have participated in the Foss Evening League for many seasons. Having initially taken the place of Thornton CC in the early 1990s, we have won the league on 13 occasions to date.

Played on Wednesday evenings, matches are between 16-20 overs per side depending on the projected remaining daylight. Whilst naturally striving to win every game, these fixtures also offer invaluable match practice for our players, and enable juniors to participate alongside our senior players; indeed there is no more pleasing sight that a promising young player prosper under the guidance of experienced cricketers.

As well as looking to retain the Division One title, in 2016 Woodhouse Grange will for the first time have two sides competing in the Foss Evening League. Since 2001 we have run a very successful Academy team, made up of predominantly under 17 players alongside one or two experienced campaigners. The Woodhouse Grange Academy XI will participate in Division 3, having moved from the now defunct Pocklington Evening League, in which which were champions on four occasions.
